I love that Darko creates an environment with Jewish values, and Jewish friends (as it grows, more friends that are age appropriate will make it even better!) …DARKO encourages davening (I would challenge Darko to focus more on that aspect of it)…encourages parsha knowledge (Cocoa club!) and I love that extracurriculars like robotics, art, yoga, and other aspects of life that are stimulating and engaging make school fun! While they are enriching, the field trips present challenges logistically and present opportunities to do better with time management (advance notice). I love laptops and ipads instead of books!!…I love no homework! The challenge is making sure that the learning that the student does have available (Rosetta Stone on laptop, Achieve 3000 & Wordly Wise on ipad) need to be part of her overall learning program with check in times and facilitation as necessary…I love the goal orientation with teaching to responsibility (climbing Har Sinai and Gematria)…& I think there is an opportunity there to challenge them to have more of a goal orientation towards their general studies subjects as well.
also love that she’s learning about technology (power point presentations and imovie) and those sorts of things that will serve her in the world in which she lives!
